Beach Bars

With holidaymakers having the unique opportunity of enjoying both the Mediterranean sea and the Mar Menor inland sea, there is certainly no shortage of beach bars in La Manga. Stretching for 21 kilometres from Cabo de Palos to the residential area of Veneziola and with an average width of 100 metres, La Manga boasts a great choice of beaches, and for many visitors a few cold beers, jug of refreshing sangria or an indulgent cocktail whilst enjoying the sea and sun is one of the joys of a seaside holiday. The beach bars in La Manga are scattered along both sides of the ‘Strip' and for those visiting the Mar Menor there is a further great choice of bars.

Chiringuito Verano Azul – Chiringuito is the Spanish word for beach bar and this charming little place is located in Cabo de Palos on Calafría Beach and close to the lighthouse. They do a good selection of drinks, tapas, main meals and daily set menus although prices are on the high side for beach bars in La Manga and you are really paying for the lovely setting and views.

Chiringuito El Faro – Named after the lighthouse, this bar is set a bit back from Calafría Beach on Calle Cabo Falcón and boasts a lovely outdoor terrace with splendid views of the lighthouse. Being close to a tourist attraction, El Faro gets busy during the peak summer season so if you are thinking of having a meal it's best to book in advance or arrive early.

Chiringuito Cubano – Located on the Mar Menor side of the ‘Strip' in the picturesque Puerto Bello, there are pleasant views over the port and the friendly waiting staff always offer a warm welcome. They do a good selection of tasty dishes and offer both local and imported beverages.

La Cangreja – Centrally located in the La Manga resort area and facing the Mediterranean, the terrace here is practically on the beach so it's a good choice for visitors who don't want to risk losing their sunbathing spot. Serving both food and drink, the burgers, Tex-Mex choice and rice dishes are popular and the waiting staff very efficient, even when the bar is packed.

El Gollerón Beach Club – Also located in the resort area and facing the Mar Menor, this is one of the better value beach bars in La Manga that offers a good selection of grilled meats, an upstairs seating area with great views and comfortable couches right on the beach.
