Horse Riding

With fantastic beaches, countryside and mountains, horse riding in La Manga is one of the most pleasant ways to explore the lovely Costa Calida. Visitors to La Manga have a choice of options to get out and about during their stay including hiking, cycling, quad biking, buggy driving, jet ski and kayaking. But there is something special about being on horseback where the creak of saddle leather and clip clop of hooves accompanied by the sound of bird call is wonderfully therapeutic, and with the horse doing the navigating you can just relax and enjoy the beautiful surrounding scenery and spectacular mountain and sea views.

Horse Riding In La Manga

Located just a few kilometres from La Manga on the outskirts of the Los Belones residential area, Rancho de la Fuente have a wealth of equestrian expertise and offer a variety of horse riding in La Manga including lovely beach and mountain treks as well as riding lessons and Shetland ponies for the young ones to gain confidence on in the sand manége. Once they feel confident enough, children or novices can try lead reign lessons or mini hacks of 15 minutes.

Beach & Mountain Treks

All treks can be customised for individual and group requirements by prior arrangement but the usual group size is between 4 – 8 persons including up to 3 leaders from the riding school. The choice of trek really depends on the scenery you wish to venture through, terrain you prefer to ride on and how much galloping you are comfortable with. Beach Trek – This is the longest trek which lasts between 3 – 4 hours and is suitable for the more experienced rider. Accompanied by 3 trek leaders, riders get to enjoy a combination of walking and trotting on the journey to the beautiful coastal areas of Calblanque National Park and Cala Reona. Once on the coast the real excitement begins when you can let the horse have its head and enjoy the thrill of galloping along the vast stretches of sand, after which the horses like nothing better than a cooling swim in the sea, accompanied by the rider of course. Mountain Trek – The mountains of the Costa Calida beckon on this wonderfully scenic trek which lasts between 1 – 2 hours and is accompanied by 2 trek leaders. The trek is entirely off road and combines walking, trotting and cantering on various terrain so riders need to be confident in all three riding disciplines. The trek takes riders up and through the mountains where the trails are exciting and the views of the surrounding countryside spectacular. Horse riding in La Manga is a refreshing and rewarding experience and by contacting Rancho de la Fuente beforehand you can confirm a booking for your specific group size.
